BLANKETS FOR SALE!!

Comp team is selling FHS fleece blankets. They are very warm and large! I will have all 3 samples in my room. Even if you aren't on comp, you may sell/buy the blankets. Each blanket comes 'as is' and costs $35.00. You may add your name for $10.00.

FHS Comp

You guys did a great job. There are more competitions, so keep up the hard work!

REMINDERS!!

Just a few reminders since I won't be in 7th today...

1. You CANNOT excuse yourself from a game or practice. Your parents have to call me or your coach to notify us if you are going to be absent. Being absent from school does not mean you are already excused from a game/function. We must be notified prior to the event or it's a full strike (benched for a week). Read the handbook again to see what are excused vs. non-excused absences. Not having a ride, I forgot, I have homework, etc. are not excuses. If you don't have your coach's phone #, GET IT!!

2. Taylor, Luis, & Claudia-don't forget the breakfast on Monday. Be there by 7am at Denny's on Blackstone & Shields in full uniform. Have fun :)

3. Comp. Squad-Make arrangements to be at Clovis North by 11 am next Saturday. If you need a ride, let me know. I will make a pick-up at FHS next Saturday at 10:30 am for anyone who needs a ride. Get the medical release form signed and back to Mrs. Champion by Wednesday, November 11th.

4. All Squads-Practice on Wednesday, November 11th from 1-4 pm in wrestling room. Mandatory (except those in the Veteran's Day Parade).

5. All Squads-VERY IMPORTANT-If you miss one prac next week (other than for a sport match), you are removed from the Pig Rally routines. NO EXCEPTIONS even if you are sick!

6. All Squads-Prepare your alter ego! Think of a name by Wednesday.

Competition Directions

The USA Regional Qualifier is in one week! Make sure you have a ride and are there on time, ready to go. There are two ways you can get there. Pick whichever one is easiest for you.

DIRECTIONS #1

Directions (from FHS):
Take 41 North exit Herndon (go 3.9 miles)
Turn right on Herndon and go to Willow Ave (go 3.0 miles)
Turn left on Willow and go to International Ave (3.5 miles)

DIRECTIONS #2
Take 41 north to Friant, turn right, pass Woodward park, continue until Copper, turn right on Copper, go until Willow, turn right on Willow, you will see school on the right side on International & Willow.

School is on Northwest corner. Go to Clovis North gym, which is on the far west side in the bigger parking lot near the pools and tennis courts.

PIG BREAKFAST!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Taylor Kabeary, Claudia Maciel, and Luis Sepulveda for being selected as the 3 cheerleaders to attend the FHS/RHS pig breakfast. Be at Denny's (Blackstone & Shields) by 7:00 am in full uniform on Monday. Have fun and enjoy hanging out with the RHS cheerleaders. WIN BACK THAT PIGGY!!

Pig Week is right around the corner!!!!
Monday, November 9th is the annual FHS/RHS Pig Breakfast. FHS is the host this year. 3 members from Varsity will be selected by the coaches to attend the breakfast. We will announce the 3 selected cheerleaders on Wednesday, November 4th during 7th period. It doesn't matter what year you are (9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th). What matters is: attitude, motivation, commitment, behavior, enthusiasm, team-player, and leadership skills! Let's start Pig Week off right and win back that pig!!

Comp...Practice on Saturday is 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Make sure you are there at the correct time!

If you want a copy of all the pics taken at the photo shoot at the California Eye Institute, bring $5 to Mrs. Champion next week. I will make you a cd of the pics.

Yay for Monique (Varsity) for being selected this month's COM (Cheerleader of the Month)! Monique has many wonderful qualities: funny, bubbly, dedicated, hard-working, never complains, always smiling, and a team-player. You deserve this award very much!! Congrats.

CONGRATS!!!

I am so proud of all three teams. I have checked grades and I've NEVER had so many cheerleaders above a 3.0 GPA!! Way to go team. Out of all 3 teams, we only have 2 on probabtion and no one is ineligible. All those who were on probation are now off!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the hard work in class. Let's aim for no one on probation for 2nd quarter.

Comp. Fundraiser

Next week Coach Miller is going to pass out the order forms for the sweatshirts. Here is a sample of the sweatshirts. The purple one is $45 and the one with rhinestones is $55, except it will be on either a grey or black sweatshirt. It can also come with our without rhinestones (without stones $45) and either crewneck or hooded. The giraffe print only comes in the purple sweatshirt, crewneck or hooded. More details will follow soon...

Pardini's is on Shaw & Van Ness extension in Picadilly Square.

Girls will do the fight song, possibly escort the inductees, and everyone will lead the alumni in the FHS Alma Mater. The evening will end around 9:30-9:45 pm. You must stay the entire time. Eat before you arrive at Pardini's.

What a busy Friday!! 5:15 am news conference, 2 rallies, football game vs. Clovis North, & half-time performances. Everyone did wonderful and I'm very proud. Now time to work even harder to make Homecoming, Pig Rally, and Pig Game even bigger & better!!

Cheerleader of the Month-Nichole

Congratulations to Nichole (Varsity) for being selected as Cheerleader of the Month (COM). Nichole was chosen by all the coaches, including the comp. coaches. Each coach feels Nichole possesses all the qualities one needs to be a successful cheerleader and leader. Nichole is dedicated, hard-working, positive, motivated, and always smiling. We love having her on the team and feel she deserves this honor!

Madatory Lunch-Comp.

It is madatory for comp. team to come to my room on Wednesday, September 16th during lunch (the ENTIRE lunch). We will provide soda, pizza, and chips. We will watch the 2009 NCA National DVD. Anyone not on comp is welcome to join, but please provide your own lunch. See you then!!!

Wawona Rally

On Friday, October 23rd we will travel to Wawona Middle School to perform at their rally. You will leave FHS at 12:30 pm, using the bus they provide, and will return approximately at 3:30 to FHS. You will perform 2 routines, hand out awards, and lead the school in a cheer. Some of the staff are going to do a "Thriller" routine, so you might be asked to join in. Hope on Youtube and learn the dance!!

DUE FRIDAY OR RUN!!!!

The green 'Save the City' entertainment books are now past due! Anyone who has a sample book(s) must turn those in by this Friday, September 11th. If books are not turned in by Friday, you GET to run each day it's late. Please bring the book(s) to Mrs. Champion's classroom, not to PE.

Mandatory Comp. Meeting

There will be a mandatory comp. cheer meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 12:00 in my room. Spread the word and be there on time. Bring your lunch and cheer binders.

Next Week-VARSITY

On Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday of next week, Varsity will have practice until 4:30. If you play a sport, then you can leave for your practice.

Comp. Stunt Clinic

Competition Cheer-On Saturday, September 19th your practice is 1-5 because you will be having a stunt clinic.  It is mandatory to be there!  

Comp. Team

Don't forget that this Saturday, September 5th is your first practice.  Be to the wrestling room on time with a lot of water!  Practice is 1-3 pm and mandatory.  You can only miss 2 practices for the entire comp. season.  Bring your comp. handbook paper signed or else you have to just watch the first practice.  If you have questions, contact Coach Miller or talk with Mrs. Champion.  You do not have to wear your camp clothes, but you must wear your current cheer shoes.  Dress appropriately to do a lot of stunting and jumping.  I hope you guys have a wonderful practice and work hard so you are ready for the November USA Regional Qualifier!!!  

Save the Date-Varsity

Please make arrangements to be at the California Eye Institute at 5:45 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd.  This is when we will take the pic for the FHS Cheer poster.  It is very important that we have everyone there.  I checked and there are no games that day for volleyball or cross country.  You will arrive in uniform (those who are paid off) and get the chance to be on the 1st every FHS Cheer poster!  Those who have sports practice ask, beg, plead with your coach to leave early so you can be a part of this  new tradition!!    The picture is being taken by a professional photographer.  Details about hair, outfit, etc will follow in PE class.

Thanks to all the girls and guys who came to help with the FUSD press conference. You guys looked great and did a wonderful job, representing FHS. I love the cow hats!!

1st day of school!!

Woo-hoo!! It's almost the 1st day of school :) I know you guys/gals are thrilled! Please bring your cheer binder with all your handouts to 7th period on Monday. Meet in my room S-75. If you are not in my 7th period, we are in the process of working this out with the counselors. If you owe me football cards, these are due Monday. I will add the money to your cheer account if they are not turned in by Wednesday (at the latest). Continue to sell those entertainment books! We want to try to go to two different nationals this year. See you Monday.

YAY!!

Thank you so much to Adianez (JV Captain) and Nichole (Varsity Captain) for speaking at last night's alumni meeting. Each girl spoke about why it's important for us to have a breakaway banner for games. They were asked several questions about the banner and were able to answer those questions quite well! I heard from our principal, Mr. Reyes, today that they voted 'YES' to provide the monies needed to purchase the banner. It will be white with purple & gold writing-
